Taika Waititi reveals his Ace Wars movie has a storey that's "very ME"

Taika Waititi has talked about his upcoming Major Wars movie.

"Information technology's still in the 'EXT. SPACE' arrange," he told Wired, referring to the way scripts are written. "Only we've got a story. I'm really excited aside it because IT feels very me." Waititi's co-author on the cinema is Krysty Wilson-Cairns, who also carbon monoxide-wrote 1917.

As for bringing his humorous tone to the more heartfelt Star Wars universe, Waititi suggested it's no problem. "I tend to go down that little sincerity alleyway in my films," he commented. "I comparable to fool the witness into thinking 'hour angle IT's this' and so them going, 'Damn it, you made me feel something!'"

Hardly anything is known near Waititi's Virtuoso Wars flic at the moment, but it isn't his first foray into the galaxy far, distant by. He directed an episode of The Mandalorian, and played the droid H.M.S. Bounty hunter Immunoglobulin-11 in the series.

The director has also been busy in the Wonder universe, following up Thor: Ragnarok with Thor: Love and Thunder, which recently cloaked filming ahead of its 2022 release. Atomic number 2's besides on the job on a What We Do in the Shadows sequel, plays the villain in Unrestrained Guy, and has a cameo role in James River Gunn's The Self-destruction Squad. In 2019, he scored two Academy Award Nominations for Jojo Rabbit – and took home the metallic for Best Adapted Screenplay.

This is also far from the only Star Wars project in development. There's Wonder Woman director Cake Jenkins' Rogue Squadron in the whole shebang, along with multiple live-action TV shows, including Obeah-Unanimated Kenobi, The Mandalorian season 3, and Ahsoka. Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige and Loki point author Michael Waldron are too teaming on a Star Wars movie, which Waldron has indicated will equal about home.

Waititi's Star Wars motion picture doesn't currently let a hard release date. In the meantime, check out our roundup of all the future Star Wars movies and TV shows on the mode.
